Students of Ponda school turn old clothes into bags, hand over to shops in town

Keen on reducing the use of plastic bags in their town, students of GVM’s Utkarsh Vidyamandir, Ponda, came up with a novel idea. Middle and high school students brought in old t-shirts, dupattas and other good quality, unused cloth lying around their homes to school, and with a little help from their art and craft teacher, sewed them into sturdy bags, which they then distributed to shopkeepers in Ponda town.
