Panchayat polls: Goa to be ‘dry’ on August 9, 10, 12

Ahead of the panchayat polls, the Goa government has announced restrictions on the sale and transportation of liquor across the state. No alcohol will be sold or served in outlets, bars, and hotels on August 9 and 10, and on counting day, August 12. The finance department has issued a notification declaring the date of polling as well as the day prior as ‘dry days’, and has directed all licenced premises selling liquor to remain shut on these three days.
