In new austerity measures, Goa freezes new govt jobs, infra projects

Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday unveiled a series of austerity measures to help the state tide over the fiscal crunch triggered by the nationwide lockdown. These drastic steps, which include a freeze on new government jobs and infrastructure projects, could help the state government cut down its financial liabilities by Rs 150-200 crore a month in the coming months, officials said.
