Heavy rain hits SFX novenas at Old Goa, floods seating area

The final day of the novenas of St Francis Xavier at Old Goa saw major disruptions due to the unseasonal downpour, reports Lisa Monteiro. The pandal, erected every year to protect devotees from the sun, could not hold up to the gusty winds and continuous rain. Certain portions gave way under the weight of the accumulated water. The rain also damaged the fans and LEDs.
