Goa Medical College wards full, shift patients to superspecialty block, says state's health minister Vishwajit Rane

PANAJI: Health minister Vishwajit Rane paid a surprise visit to Goa Medical College (GMC) on Tuesday and issued instructions to the hospital administration to immediately decongest wards that have patients even on floors by shifting them to the superspecialty blocks.Rane visited wards 108, 139, 142, 142, 144, 146 and 147, which had patients more than their capacity. “We inspected the wards to reduce the load. It will have to be analysed how many referrals come to GMC from peripheral hospitals,” the health minister said.
