Beds reserved in government hospitals for suspected monkeypox cases, says Directorate of Health Services Goa

PANAJI: To isolate suspected cases of monkeypox if detected in the state, the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has reserved two beds each at district hospitals, community health centres (CHCs), and the primary health centre (PHC), Cansualim.“Travellers to India from any of the countries that have reported cases are checked for symptoms of monkeypox on arrival as per the guidelines issued by the Centre,” Dr Prashant Suryawanshi, state epidemiologist told reporters.Health services has intensified its surveillance with four cases of monkeypox being reported in the country.
